Welcome to the Golden Boomer Age
...When Baby Boomers Retire

We’ve heard for ages about the Baby Boomers, the large population born after World War II between 1946 and 1964. Well, that cohort has grown up and many have reached their golden years and are beginning to retire. As a “boomer” retires from their occupation or profession, they get the new moniker of Golden Boomer.

This group remains a huge and influential group. Estimates show that every day, for the next 19 years, 10,000 Baby Boomers will turn 65 each day. It will be the largest population of educated and skilled older adults in our history. If you were lucky enough to be born between the years of January 1, 1946 and December 31, 1964 you will eventually be a Golden Boomer. The Golden Boomers will continue to retain significant influence in commerce, product development, and home decisions.

At Pellatt Design/Remodeling we are paying particular attention to this important group because they are motivating one of the biggest trends in remodeling in 2017...aging in place. They are looking for changes to their homes that will allow them to stay in their homes longer, if not forever. In addition, another change that is being influenced by Golden Boomers is a greater need for homes that will accommodate multi-generational families needing or choosing to live together under one roof. Both of these changes are here to stay and are creating greater needs for design/builders, such as Pellatt Design/Remodeling, to understand and be able to offer creative and workable solutions to our Golden Boomer clients to live their golden years in the home that meets their new needs and that they deserve.
